Just a few updates…
Wednesday, October 10th, 2007 by nateAlright, it’s been like a millennium since I’ve posted anything out here. Well, with the addition of a second child, I guess life kind of just goes that way. Plus, I think for every minute I spend on the computer, Dixie’s stress level goes up a notch. So needless to say, I haven’t had a whole lot of time on my hands. Since the last time I’ve written, quite a bit has happened. For one thing, Ryan was born! Ryan Allen Packer. He was born on June 28th, and is growing like a weed. Much faster than Maddie! I’m sure he’s going to catch up to her weight in no time. Course, he started out about twice her weight too. Anyway, he smiles a lot, cries a lot, poops a lot, and sleeps a lot, during the day. Doesn’t sleep a lot at night. We’re trying to improve that, and he is doing a little better.
Maddie has started going to my mom’s singing class, Positive Notes, and is absolutely loving it. We tried to start potty training, but she didn’t do so well at first, so we kind of eased off a bit and are trying to let her get into it at her own pace.
I started riding my bike to work, mostly to get rid of this gut hanging over my belt, but it also helps to save a little on gas. Sadly I didn’t get started earlier in the summer, and it’s now getting pretty cold. But I’m still going currently, and we’ll see how far into the Winter I can go before I decide it’s too freaking cold to ride at 6 o’clock in the morning. My commute is about 14 miles round trip, so that’s a fair amount of exercise coming from a guy who was getting absolutely none prior to this.
Dixie has got her hands full with the two kids, who seem like four. Dont’ know how she does it, but somehow she manages. She spends all her time taking care of them, and cleaning up after them. Seems like the only time we get to really spend together is when we sit in front of the TV to catch a show here and there.
Well that’s about it. I don’t have any pictures on me right now, but as soon as I get a few more minutes, I’ll put some pictures of Ryan up. I’ll leave you with a quote of the day:
“The problem with ignorance is, it picks up confidence as it goes along.”
