About Us

Olive Garden

Nathan Vance Packer was born June 15, 1979, in San Diego, California, the oldest of eight kids. Yeah, you heard right. I have seven siblings. Camille, Jaron, Janine, Brent, Jordan, Austin, and Rebecca. My parents are Steve and Renee Packer. We moved around a lot as I was growing up. We moved to Utah, Texas, Arkansas, and back to Utah. I graduated from Layton High School in 1997. I served a mission in the West Indies, which, if you don’t know where that is, is a bunch of Carribbean islands just north-east of South America. I served in Guyana, and the islands of Trinidad and Barbados. I got my masters in Parapsychology from Yale in 2003, and Phd from Cornell in 2005. Ok, just kidding, I got my Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications from Weber State University in Ogden, Utah. I’ve played the piano since I was about 5 years old, but since I stopped taking lessons at about 17, my skills have deteriorated terribly. My interests and hobbies are music, movies, video editing, web design, pretty much anything that involves computers, and of course, my family.

Dixie Ann Lang Packer was born October 11, 1981, in Bountiful, UT, and is the oldes of four kids. Her siblings are Denise, Dyan, and Derek. Her parents are Doug and Debbie Lang. She grew up in kaysville, UT, and graduated from Davis High School in 2000. In her senior year of high school, she was president of their branch of Operation Smile, and visited Colombia to help with the needy children there. She received her Bachelor’s degree from Weber State in the secondary education program, with a major in psychology, and a math minor. She loves to scrapbook, and is a budding photographer, and loves to use photoshop to make her pictures shine. She just loves spending time with her family, and spends the bulk of her time entertaining Maddie and Ryan.

Madison Ann Packer, (Maddie) was born July 7, 2004 in Ogden, UT. Her interests include annoying us by tresspassing, interupting our parties, and ripping our limbs off. Just kidding. She just loves to create havoc. What two-year-olds don’t? She is the cutest thing in the world, and likes to make messes in the bathroom, watch movies, and take baths.

Ryan Allen Packer was born June 28, 2007 in Ogden, UT. At this point in his life, his interests include mainly pooping and drooling. We’ll let you know when that changes. But he has an addictive laugh, and is sure to bring a smile to anyone who looks at him! His middle name was taken from my father’s father, who passed away long before I was born, but have somehow felt a connection to all these years. I later found out that my cousin Ryan Stott also has the middle name Allen, and I would just like to say, for his sake, that he had nothing to do with our boy’s middle name. Apparently, he didn’t think that was too cool.

Dixie and I met at Weber State in the summer of 2001, got engaged in October of that year, and were married in the LDS Bountiful Temple on February 15, 2002. We started out in the Bonnevilla Apartments on Harrison Blvd. in Ogden. About a year later, we moved to the East Ridge apartments, about a mile down the road. (The Bonnevilla Apartments were being sold, and were forcing us to either move out or buy a unit.) A little while later, we moved to an apartment in Kaysville above the garage of a nice family. After about a year there, we finally bought our first house in the summer of 2005 in Layton, UT. At the time of this writing, (December 2006) we still haven’t put up the pictures or decorated the house. Dixie says it’s because in an apartment, putting up pictures is no big deal, cause you know you’re not going to be there for long. But a house is a big deal, because you never know how long we’ll be here. One day we’ll get them up. Edit (January 2, 2007): In the last few months, we have managed to get the pictures out of the closet, and put a few up. But it’s still not complete! I don’t know if we’ll ever get fully moved in to this house.

Anyway, mi casa es tu casa, so come down and visit any time!
